Farewell to Our Inspiring CEO After 11 Remarkable Years
After 11 transformative years of leadership, the Onslow Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) bids a heartfelt farewell to our outgoing CEO, Chantelle King who will step down today to embark on the next chapter of her life with her family.
Chantelle’s time as CEO has been marked by growth, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to supporting the local business community. From advocating for local businesses to organising workshops and large-scale events, she has left a permanent mark on OCCI and the wider Onslow community.
“What I am most proud of during my time at OCCI is the exceptional reputation we have established as a strong, thriving, and collaborative organisation,” she said. “Wherever I go and whoever I speak with—be it industry partners, government representatives, or chambers across the country—the consistent feedback is, ‘Oh yes, I have heard about the amazing work OCCI do.’”
This reputation as a benchmark of excellence is a testament to Chantelle's visionary leadership and dedication.
In recognition of her extraordinary efforts and dedication, the OCCI Committee are proud to honour Chantelle by making her a Life Member of OCCI. Chantelle’s commitment went far beyond what was expected of a paid employee and her tireless work, passion, and willingness to go above and beyond have set a high standard for all of us. This honour reflects our deep appreciation for her exceptional contributions and the lasting impact she has made on our organisation and community.
On a personal note, she expressed her deep connection to Onslow, saying, “After 12 years, countless memories, and two wonderful children later, Onslow is much more than a place we lived—it has been our home. It is where we have grown as a family, made friends who are now family, and experienced a sense of community. Leaving Onslow is bittersweet, but we do so knowing it will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
Looking ahead, Chantelle shared her confidence in OCCI’s future under the guidance of incoming CEO Bree Maher, stating, “I leave OCCI with a full heart and confidence that this organisation will continue to thrive and make a meaningful impact.”
The entire OCCI team, along with the Onslow community, extends its deepest gratitude for her years of service, leadership, and dedication. Chantelle’s legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire the chamber’s work in the years to come.
