Snake Handling Course
Past Event
About this course:
This one day training course is designed to give participants an insight into reptile biology and an in-depth understanding of snake behaviour. With live examples of many species, you will be trained to safely work with venomous snakes from all over the state.
A fundamental understanding of snake behaviour is vital when working with these animals. With one of WA's most respected and experienced venomous snake handlers, they will give participants the necessary knowledge and training of snake handling equipment, basic techniques and the psychological preparation to safely deal with venomous snake encounters.
The ability to use the snake's own natural behaviour to safely capture and relocate with minimal stress placed on the animal while minimizing human risks is the ultimate goal.
Successful participants will be able to demonstrate a successful catch and release of a real live native venomous snake. Successful participants will be issued a venomous snake relocation certificate.
