FIRE EQUIPMENT TEST & TAG TRAINING COURSE - 1 DAY

The Fire Equipment Test and Tag Course combines the comprehensive training of CPPFES2010 and CPPFES2020 units, providing participants with the essential skills needed for effective fire safety compliance.

CPPFES2010: Inspect and test fire hose reel

The course covers the skills and knowledge required to undertake routine servicing of fire hose reels and complete minor repairs. It includes six-monthly and yearly servicing tasks.

At the end of this unit, you will be able to:

• Six-monthly and yearly routine service of fire hose reels in the field
• Limited repairs carried out to fire hose reels, appropriate installation, signage and cabinets at customer premises in accordance with Australian Standards and Building Regulations
• Confirmation of the correct type of fire hose reel to meet fire hazards present in the area to be protected
• Understanding of the installation requirements specified in building regulations and Australian Standards
• Documentation and reporting of results
• Working safely including identifying hazards and risks associated with testing

CPPFES2020: Conduct routine inspection and testing of fire extinguishers and fire blankets

The course covers the skills and knowledge required to inspect and test portable fire equipment. This course is relevant to technicians responsible for the maintenance and up keep of portable fire equipment in a community or workplace setting. 

At the end of this unit, you will be able to:

Perform 6 monthly and annual inspection and testing of fire extinguishers, in accordance with Australian Standards, including:
• water
• dry chemical
• carbon dioxide
• wet chemical
• foam

Perform 6 monthly and annual inspection and testing of fire blankets in accordance with Australian Standards.
• Maintenance tag updating and recording
• Tools and equipment
• Managing faulty equipment
• Identifying and documenting of non-compliances

• Cancellation Policy:  There is a 14-day cancellation policy; cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled course will not be eligible for a refund.
• Appropriate PPE must be worn on the day - long sleeve shirt, long pants, work boots, gloves and hard hat.
• No food or catering provided at this course
